Quote by Guilliame Apollionaire (Response & Inspired Art)

Come to the edge, he said.
We are afraid, they said.
Come to the edge, he said.
They came to the edge,
He pushed them and they flew.
Come to the edge, Life said.
They said: We are afraid.
Come to the edge, Life said.
They came.
It pushed them…

And they flew.

This quote by Guilliame Apollionaire reminds me of what everyone thinks of before they take a risk. They fail to understand that taking risks is a part of becoming a successful. Doubts begin to arouse one’s mind, and with that way, it causes people to not believe in themselves. Making them think that taking the safe road is always the right form to lead their lives. Perfection’s origin is all about mistakes, so how will one ever become positively great at something if they never truly learned from it. Sometimes it is good to mess up because it only makes you better. That is what I feel the quote strictly represents. I also feel that this just gives an extra push to those people that are too scared of taking risks like stated before.

This image that I have drawn is inspired by the poem. I decided to color the person in green to signify the balanced safeness from taking the tisk as to walking on a string on too of the city. I colored the city orange to show the mindset that the person had before they had taken the risk. Seeing the city in orange or as a warning of risks being the “bad” zones.
